Katerina Kantova M.A. et. M.A.

Ms. Katerina Kantova is a psychologist with expertise in acute and psychotherapeutic counseling methods. Benefiting from years of studies and work in Switzerland and Belgium. Katerina combines her business experience with applied psychology. A patient and passionate professional, Katerina enjoys being a good listener and a psychologist to her clients.

A desire for helping others inspired Katerina to dedicate her professional life to psychology and since 2014 she has been helping her clients in her private practice. Since 2015 she had been also helping professional athletes to achieve their goals – sport psychology. In 2022 she got an accreditation as a coach by EMCC EIA.

In 2013, Katerina completed her second master’s degree in clinical & counseling psychology. Leading to the degree as a requirement she was leasing counseling sessions in the Psychiatric Hospital Bohnice with the sex offenders unit. Her focus was on group therapy with sexually deviant patients, building their understanding of conscious actions and behavioral insights. Strategies were discussed, disclosed and experienced by the patient groups- helping the individuals to resolve stress and anxiety allowing for a better quality of life. Close supervision and personal assessments for confidentiality stand at the forefront of daily talks, protecting both the patients as well as our society.

Later, Katerina continued her work in the Bohnice hospital in the women’s emergency clinic. The clinic accepts new patients every day, helping women who face severe depression, bipolar disorders, anxieties, psychotic states, personality disorders and mental issues. Katerina dedicated her sessions to both individuals as well as groups.

Katerina published a book in 2013 called ‘Moje Zpoved – My Confession’. The book addresses, to the general public, ten real-life stories of patients with sexual deviations. The stories explore patients’ motives, understanding of their instincts, actions and ultimately their road to recovery. In 2015 Katerina had published another book (Je načase být šťastný – It is time to be happy) with tools for a better quality of life – positive psychology approach.

Katerina regularly attends seminars and professional discussion forums on sexology, positive psychology and acute therapies. She is very much interested in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and is keen on developing new techniques and practices in this field. Attending the Psychiatric Center Prague enables Katerina to expand the scope of her work to patients with special phobias or Obsessive Compulsive Disorders (OCD). Her last Master’s thesis addressed social phobias and developed practical ideas to help patients diagnosed with social phobias using CBT.

My sessions are dedicated fully to my clients. I make a commitment to utilize my business world experience and my qualifications in psychology to reach the desired outcomes and to continuously help my clients in achieving a better quality of life.
